yeah.... but eragon found bits of himself along the way and after bringing freedom to Alagaësia he needs a new purpose. And nurturing those eggs gives him and saphira that purpose as rider and dragon. Murtagh is still searching for a place where he's not seen as just morzan's son and as a traitor (when he never was...mostly). Arya never saw eragon that way so...i really think it was for the best when they parted ways. I still miss the characters though.
Agreed. But his dreams were not a part of the prophecy. They were developed throughout the series and were unnecessary. I think Paolini's original intention was to have Eragon go away along forever and just had to develop the details throughout.
I could think of like 100 endings that would be better and still work with the prophecy thing... Except for the fact that Eragon actually SAW himself leaving in the boat and saying goodbye to Arya twice in his dreams.
It was kinda like you saved us all and you are sentenced to be forever alone training dragons to send back to your home. Have fun! Like was that necessary? I feel like the ending could have been different while still fulfilling the prophecy from the first book.
@wolf3@hippolvr17 I know I was so sad and I started crying and couldn't stop (yah that's kinda embarrassing, but whatever). I thought that at least if Eragon and Arya didn't get to stay together Murtagh should have gone with Eragon. I felt so bad for Eragon that he went alone
@TFK19@wolf3 I so agree! They all were so happy and life was perfect... For like a page. Why couldn't they leave Murtagh in charge of the dragons and riders in alagaesia and have Arya stay with Eragon? Life would have been perfect then!
@TFK19@hippolovr17 i really didnt like that Eragon left without Arya. they were perfect. and i kinda felt bad for Saphira and Firnen, cause they couldnt see each other again.
