i’m a science student and for any other science nerds here there’s a great series of books called The Forgotten Women, and there’s a scientist one and its all about women in history who made massive contributions to science and were never credited! it’s an amazing book!! 🙂🧬🔬
@TKEStrong3 I'm a bio major, and there are a small handful of professors (mostly women, if I'm being honest lol) who credit Franklin, so that's how I found out. Most textbooks and professors don't even mention Franklin at all, but a vast majority of bio majors know who Franklin is and raise an eyebrow when a professor doesn't mention her in a discussion of DNA structure 😂
@DaSWGeek I didn't know that! If Watson and Crick are credited with the discovery, how'd you learn it was actually Rosalind Franklin who found that out?
For those asking/don't know: Rosalind Franklin was the scientist who used x-ray imaging techniques to discover the structure of DNA. Watson and Crick essentially stole her photos, posted a paper first, and got all of the credit for discovering the structure of DNA while Rosalind Franklin still remains mostly forgotten to this day among the scientific community.
