@cro_meg27 awesome! And thanks. So cool that you have a NASA facility nearby! I made this as a bookmark for my mom, who's a lot into astronomy (well, I am as well ^^) This will be a challenging start into alphas: lots of colors, changes, and horizontal stripes, which you'll find out is a most annoying/challenging bit to do. Best luck!
By the way, I am not sure how others did it, but it'll end up being a rather long bracelet. If someone has thin wrists, it might be a bit of an extra large fit.
@morningdew You did a great job designing it. I haven’t started making alphas yet but I really want to make yours. I think it would make a great wrist lanyard doubled up. I live in a town with a huge NASA facility so I know a lot of people who work in the space industry. If one of them would just finish his PhD I’d make it for him!
@cro_meg27 I want to say that knotting that Jupiter is hell! I knew I was making it complicated when I designed it, but until I physically did it I had not realized what madness it would be to do Jupiter, with all those stripes and moons and stuff! 🤯 I am not the most experienced knotter, and that one planet alone took me over 4 hours! So kudos to @Unicycle66 (and to @spiderfrog ) for making this bracelet too!
Thanks @cro_meg27 thanks! I had seen a bunch of this kind of designs, and got inspirations from many. #58401 has added asteroid, and I thought I'd add all the asteroid belts too
@morningdew I love the way you made the sun part of the loop so it looks bigger, more significant. Plus your addition of the asteroid and Kuiper belts.
@spiderfrog I was looking at the pictures of this pattern and yours immediately popped out. I love that you included both the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt.
Thanks @Ango ! 😍 I've made it for my mother, for Christmas. She's very passionate about science, astronomy in particular, so I wanted to make it as scientifically accurate as possible. For sizes and distances I had to approximate quite a bit, but hopefully the spirit is there 😅
I think this is the most scientifically accurate Solar system bracelet I've seen so far 😍 with the asteroid belts and the moons of the planets ❤️ great job!
@Note the planets in this pattern are a little "stretched vertically" on purpose, to compensate for the fact that when physically making bracelets the designs often tend to stretch horizontally. Hope this makes sense 😄
