@Liam_Delve You just don't make the background knots and instead add the base strings from the background knots to the knot next them. The top and bottom row is all background so you start with 13 base strings. So on row 8 you make from left to right one blue knot over 5 strings, one knot over one string, one knot over 7 strings. Then you add or remove strings from the bundle as you need them before the next row. Hope that helps. You could also watch shaped alpha videos
